Dry Brush Oils Technique

Although the internet, particularly Facebook, can be a huge time suck, I do sometimes find something worthwhile and educational. And that is the case when, while looking at Pomeranian puppies on a Facebook page, I came across an artist whose work, which looked like either pen and ink or graphite drawings, was extremely photorealistic and very well done.

I looked at her website and found out, to my surprise, that the work she did was completed using a dry brush technique with oil paints! I had to check it out and search on YouTube for this particular technique so that I could try it. And I did. This is a quick, maybe ten minutes, "drawing" of Kitsu, my Pomeranian. I used water-soluble oils on Bristol paper. Lots of fun - why else do it?
